Garage Computing

Garage Computing is an idea stemming from, but removing the ‘fantastical’ part of it where you’re programming bots on a space station. Instead, I’ve separated out the “player is looking at an old school monitor” portion of that idea into its own game - garage computing.

Set in 1982, garage computing has the player working in the fictional davOS computing ecosystem - fixing and building computers that can run “software” written in davOS asm. The above screenshot is an early example of the very zachtronics-inspired programming language.


garage computing is currently in development in GameMaker Studio 2, though it’s been the subject of a SFML/C++ based engine “port” that I’m working on.
